Bon & Mick

Winter City Elopement | August 2019

Bon & Mick, well where does one even start? These two glorious humans are not only one of most shared weddings of 2019, but they’re also dear friends of mine who I had the pleasure of photographing and being official witness of on the day.

The day began with mimosas and bedside dancing at their little abode with just their tiny wedding party of them, their best man and myself. We sipped champagne and had a little boogie before Bon walked out to surprise Mick in her Emerald green velvet gown and Doc Martin boots. Emotions were everywhere and I still tear up when I recall the moment Mick saw Bon for the very first time as a bride holding the epic berry tones bouquet made by Floral State.

We wandered through the streets of the CBD towards Old Tower House with plenty of on lookers and hecklers along the way including a “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” cheer from some cheeky teens. A light sprinkle of rain didn’t damped their winter wedding day as after their short n sweet ceremony we were met by 20 of their closest friends and family in a guard of honour to walk through before exchanging rings in front of them all.

Onwards to the cocktail bar crawl reception that started at Frisk with sloe gins and so many selfies. We ventured cross town to the State Buildings and took over a cosy corner at Petition Beer Hall before heading to Chicho’s for a late night gelato.

Bon & Mick, words will never describe how much being part of this day means to me. To photograph a close friends wedding day is one of my favourite honours and I cannot wait to see you grow your family with plenty of dogs and plants in the coming years!
